The front features the inscription Τράπεζα της Ελλάδος, the denomination Δραχμαί Χίλιαι / 1,000 Drachmai, red serial number, signatures of the officials, and a portrait of a woman in traditional costume on the right. The center of the note features a colorful decorative ornament with a floral motif. The back features a classical female portrait on the left, a view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon in the center, the denomination 1000 in the corners, a green-blue decorative frame, and the inscription Έκδοσις Δευτέρα - Second Issue. The banknote belongs to the Bank of Greece issues from the late 1930s, on the eve of World War II, combining Greek national motifs, traditional costume, classical architecture, and a historical view of Athens.
