The scene depicts a palanquin resting on the ground, attended by two elegantly dressed women in vibrant kimonos, with two men in the background amidst a serene landscape. Toshikata, a prominent Meiji-period artist and pupil of Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, is renowned for his refined portrayal of feminine grace and daily life in classical Japan.
