This cart is richly adorned with hand-carved woodwork, decorative curtains, and hanging bells. It is crafted in a Neo-Baroque style with distinct Eastern European folk influences. Hebrew inscriptions appear on the cart’s side panels, including the term Chevra Kadisha, clearly indicating its religious Jewish function. Such carts were used to transport the deceased from their home or synagogue to the cemetery, accompanied by a solemn traditional procession.
