WWI British Victory Medal to Sergeant G. H. Vaughan, Machine Gun Corps - A WWI British Victory Medal, struck in a brass or bronze alloy, fitted with a suspension ring. The obverse features a high-relief depiction of a winged allegorical female figure, representing Victory, in a classical style. The reverse is inscribed ”THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919” within a laurel wreath border, clearly dating it to the post-World War I period. The edge bears impressed text, ”12234 S.J.T. G. H. VAUGHAN. M. G. C.”, identifying the recipient as 12234 Sergeant G. H. Vaughan of the Machine Gun Corps.
