A Collection of Magic Memorabilia and Ephemera Including a Society of American Magicians Award Plaque to John Salisse - This collection of magical apparatus and historical ephemera features a walnut-finish wooden award plaque from the Society of American Magicians National Council. The plaque is mounted with a metal SAM emblem and engraved plates recognizing John Salisse, M.I.M.C. for his unstinting service to magic on both sides of the Atlantic. The lot includes a stylized duck puppet prop with a painted orange beak and purple fabric shirt, accompanied by a white-painted wooden crate stenciled with the text WITH CARE Live Bird in red and black. The crate contains a canvas liner and a single ceramic egg. Ephemera includes a handwritten letter on Ron Bishop stationery dated July 7, 1986, addressed to John Salisse regarding a royal honor. Also present are issues of The Magic Castle Newsletter from the Academy of Magical Arts dated 2008, a copy of The Magic Circle Lecture notes, and German-language programs including The magic hands and Seminare 1996. Additional items include several decks of playing cards such as Waddingtons Number 1 and Club de Luxe, a square ceramic dish with blue astrological symbols, and a set of coasters depicting various magic performances.
