Naftali Bezem - A surreal figure. Naftali Bezem (1924–2018) was an Israeli painter, illustrator, and sculptor born in Germany, who immigrated to Israel in 1939 through Youth Aliyah. Bezem, whose parents perished in the Holocaust, studied art at Bezalel and focused on social realism, exploring themes of immigration, the Holocaust, and rebirth. His style combines Jewish and universal symbols with a narrative approach, earning him the prestigious Dizengoff Prize.
