Titled on back. Born in Flehingen in 1851, Jakob Barth was a distinguished orientalist and professor of Semitic philology. His academic journey led him to teach at the Hildesheimer Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin before joining the University of Berlin in 1880, where he specialized in Semitic philology. As the son-in-law of Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer, Barth played a pivotal role in academic circles until his death in Berlin in 1914.
