A Late Victorian Dome-top Metal Clad Steamer Trunk - This late Victorian dome-top travelling trunk, commonly referred to as a steamer trunk, is constructed with a metal-clad exterior over a wooden frame. The domed lid is reinforced with two longitudinal metal bands and large, dome-headed iron rivets. It features recessed metal carrying handles to the sides and a central iron latch to the front. The interior is finished with a vibrant blue paint and includes a corrugated metal base for added strength.
