An Art Deco Oak Grandfather Longcase Clock with German Movement, circa 1930 - An Art Deco style grandmother longcase clock featuring a quartersawn oak case with a dark finish. The hood is designed with a rounded arch top and a side mesh-covered sound vent. The trunk includes decorative moulding around an oval glass aperture that reveals a circular brass-toned pendulum bob. The clock face features a circular silvered chapter ring with black Arabic numerals and ornate black-finished filigree hands, all set within a brass-toned bezel. The dial centre has a matte gold-toned finish and is marked FOREIGN below the six o'clock position, signifying a German movement imported to the United Kingdom during the inter-war period. The mechanical two-train movement is pendulum-driven and features two winding holes for timekeeping and striking functions.
