Mid-20th Century Wrought Iron Pedestrian Garden Gate - A rectangular pedestrian garden gate of wrought iron construction. The gate features a lower section of vertical square-section infill bars, surmounted by a decorative ornamental panel. This upper frieze contains symmetrical C-scroll and S-scroll motifs executed in flat-bar iron, flanking a central twisted upright that terminates in a flattened spearhead finial. The gate is fitted with a simple iron drop-latch mechanism. This style of decorative ironwork is characteristic of British suburban residential gates from the mid-20th century.
