Late Victorian Gold and Green Stone Lantern Novelty Brooch - A novelty brooch dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, designed in the three-dimensional form of a miniature lantern. The central barrel-shaped lantern body is suspended within a geometric gold wirework frame. The front of the lantern is set with a circular faceted green stone, intended to simulate the glass lens of a lamp. The lantern body features decorative fluting and flared top and bottom sections. It is fitted with a simple pin and an open C-clasp catch to the reverse.
