Bidspirit auction | A Five Light Wrought Iron
A Five Light Wrought Iron Candelabrum - A five-light candelabrum constructed from heavy-gauge square-section wrought iron. The piece features a central upright stem terminating in a single candle nozzle, from which two pairs of serpentine, scrolled arms extend laterally. Each arm is formed from a single iron bar bent into a decorative wave shape, supporting a candle nozzle and a circular drip pan at each extremity. The central shaft is supported by a tripod base consisting of three scrolled legs. The construction shows evidence of hand-forging and manual welding at the junction points between the arms, legs, and the main stem. The metal surface is finished with an aged, oxidised patina. There are no maker's marks, hallmarks, or signatures visible on the piece.
