A PAIR OF FRENCH SILVERED-BRONZE RENAISSANCE ARQUEBUSIERS BY EMILE GUILLEMIN - Pair of silvered bronze sculptures depicting Renaissance arquebusiers. Both figures are signed 'Emile Guillemin' on the bases. Emile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin (1841-1907) was a French sculptor who worked mainly with bronze and is associated with the Belle Epoque. Guillemin made his debut in the Paris Salon of 1870 where he exhibited a pair of Roman Gladiators, Retaire and Mirmillon. He showed work at the Salon of Paris from 1870 to 1899, and in 1897 received an honourable mention there. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
