A FRENCH EMPIRE STYLE CASSOLETTE LAMP WITH GILT BRONZE HORSEHEAD HANDLES, LATE 19TH CEN.
A Directoire gilt and patinated bronze twin-handled amphora. The body is decorated in gilt with depictions of a figure on the front, a basket of leaves on the bottom, and a band with stars along the top. The twin handles are in the shape of horses. Now mounted as a table lamp and fitted for electricity. Raised on a stepped Verde Antico marble socle with a later gilt-bronze plinth.
