AN ALLEN GEORGE NEWMAN (1875-1940) SIGNED BRONZE OF A SEMI-NUDE WOMAN
An evocative bronze of a semi-nude woman wearing a loosely fitted, flowing robe, created by famed American sculptor Allen G. Newman (1875 - 1940) and presented to John T. Rowland Jr. (1871 - 1945), most well known for being the supervising architect for the Jersey City Board of Education from 1903-1945. The bronze bears the inscriptions 'Allen G. Newman A.N.A. sculpt.' and 'To John T. Rowland Jr.' on its base and 'American Art Fdry. NY' on the verso.
