AN ALLEN GEORGE NEWMAN (1875-1940) SIGNED BRONZE OF A SEMI-NUDE WOMAN - An evocative bronze of a semi-nude woman wearing a loosely fitted, flowing robe, created by famed American sculptor Allen G. Newman (1875 - 1940) and presented to John T. Rowland Jr. (1871 - 1945), most well known for being the supervising architect for the Jersey City Board of Education from 1903-1945. The bronze bears the inscriptions 'Allen G. Newman A.N.A. sculpt.' and 'To John T. Rowland Jr.' on its base and 'American Art Fdry. NY' on the verso. USA, Early 20th century.
