A RENZO COLOMBO SIGNED BRONZE BUST OF NAPOLEON, 19TH CENTURY - The nice quality patinated bronze bust of Napoleon Bonaparte in military uniform with a tricorn hat and an empire eagle on a half-round plinth, a raised plaque with gilding lettered ”NAPOLEON 1ER/1812 PAR COLOMBO” in the casting. Signed 'R Colombo, 1885' on the right shoulder and a circular founder's seal of ”BRONZE GARANTI AU TITRE/PARIS” on the left shoulder. Renzo Colombo (Italian 1856-1885). Born near Milan, he studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Art. After a period working in Rome, he returned to his hometown of Gallarate where he executed busts, medals, and funerary monuments, producing his Tasso Morente in 1878, partially inspired by the Napoleon by Vicenza Vela.
