A LARGE PLASTER BUST OF NAPOLEON AFTER ANTONIO CANOVA, EARLY 19TH CENTURY - A large plaster bust of Napoleon Bonaparte in the guise of a Roman Emperor with a laurel wreath crown upon his head. This early 19th-century work appears to be made in the style of Antonio Canova (1757-1822), the famed Italian Neoclassical sculptor. Canova was known to make plaster casts of his work so that his workshop could replicate them in marble. Continental Europe, 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
