AN IBERIAN MUDEJAR SILVER AND BRASS INLAID LOCKBOX WITH KEY, C. 17TH CEN. - An antique wooden box beautifully set with gilt-brass and silver inlaid floral and geometric patterns in the traditional Mudejar style of Islamic Iberia. The inside of the box contains a variety of similarly decorated drawers affixed with small brass knobs. The top of the box is affixed with a swiveling bronze handle and the bottom is lined with red fabric. Iberian Peninsula, c. 17th Century. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Condition: Good overall with expected signs of age and use. Some wire inlay loose in places. Some very minor spots of loss to inlay, particularly at rear. Door swings and lock mechanism functions. Original key included. Possible repair to door hinge.
