AN ITALIAN STRONG BOX OR CHEST WITH POLYCHROME PAINTING, 17TH CEN. - A large rectangular strong box. The box is heavily decorated with wrought metal on the exterior and interior. The front features a wrought anthropomorphic face and painted images of people, mythical creatures, and floral designs. A complex lock mechanism, covered by an elaborate overlay, can be seen on the interior of the lid. The key is present. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
