A PERSIAN QAJAR PERIOD PAINTED TILE SET, 19TH CEN. - A set of six painted tiles from Qajar period Iran showing a finely dressed man lying under a tree and playing a 'Tar', a type of traditional Persian string instrument, as birds flutter through the air above him. The tiles are set within an iron frame surmounted by two loops for hanging. Qajar Iran, 19th Century. Dimensions: 23 1/2 x 15 3/4 in., (59.7 x 40 cm.) Please make all inquiries before bidding.
