A PERSIAN MINIATURE, HORSEMEN IN THE MOUNTAINS, GILT AND FRAMED - A framed Persian miniature depicting horsemen riding down from a mountain in the background while a rider in the foreground encounters some women on the road. The piece is painted on a rectangular panel and set on a paper backing which has also been painted with a colorful rectangular border with floral designs and gilt trim. The frame is decorated with khatam marquetry throughout. The piece is signed at the bottom and the lower left in Latin script and Farsi. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Condition: Very good overall with little to no wear to the miniature. Slight yellowing of paper consistent with age. Backing of frame slightly loose, just needs one small pin.
