AN INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTING, KOTA SCHOOL, WORSHIP OF SRINATHJI - Indian miniature painting Kota School- Worship of Srinathji. Kota the land of Hada Rajputs, was called Hadaoti, which comprised the old state of Bundi and Kota. Kota-style paintings began as simple variants of the Bundi School. During the 17th century when Rao Jagat Singh was the ruler, Kotah assumed an independent status as a school of painting. Paintings of portraits, Bhagwatpurana, and Hunting scenes became immensely popular. This uniqueness of Kota paintings lies in its wonderful landscapes which appear throughout its range of subjects from mythological to political to social paintings.
