A LARGE MEDIEVAL OR RENAISSANCE ANTIPHONAL MUSICAL SHEET, C. 1400 - A large, late Medieval or early Renaissance illuminated manuscript on vellum containing musical notation for a Christian Hymn. At the top left of the page is an ornamental flourish bearing the letters 'A E' and at the bottom right of the page is a large capital 'A' in red and blue with geometric patterning. This is an early form of the musical notation we use today, with many similarities throughout. Medieval Europe. c. 1400. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Condition: Very good for age, with some light wrinkling to vellum and some small tearing at edges. Ink well preserved throughout. Frame in good condition.
