A CASED IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVY OFFICER KAPITÄNLEUTNANTS EPAULETS - Imperial German Naval Officers' banjo shoulder boards (epaulets). A fine example of early 19th-century craftsmanship featuring the intricate silverwork to create this pair of shoulder boards/epaulets. The epaulets feature gilt-silver wire crescents applied directly to silver tape backing. Large nickel silver fouled anchor devices and two golden rank pips are mounted to each board. Single gilt Imperial Naval buttons (attached to brass hooks) complete each board. Thin strands of silver-wire fringe decorate the side of each board. The undersides of the boards are backed with navy blue wool. Original case. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
