Signed by the author and dated 1899 lower left. Matted, housed in a frame. This painting, being an illustration for the fairytale ”Ivan Tsarevich, The Firebird, and The Grey Wolf”, was often reproduced in llaterr years on postcards. Note: Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin (1876-1942) was Russian artist, famous illustrator of Russian fairy tales and epics, including fairy tales by Alexander Pushkin, theater designer, member of the World of Art group.
