A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURAL SWEET MEAT DISHES, 19TH C.
Antique Meissen porcelain dishes used for the presentation and serving of sweetmeats. Each piece features a delicate bowl that is accented with molded flowers and hand-painted insects following a garden motif. One bowl features a woman in a floral gown and the other a man in a floral outfit, both presenting the bowls on one knee. Intricate enameling and gilt throughout the pieces.
One figure has an incised number on the verso 2863, and the Meissen Factory mark, and the other has an incised number 2858 and Meissen Factory mark in blue ink along with black ink number 44.
