AN ENGRAVING OF ANDREA DI ODONI, CORNELIS VISSCHER (1629-1659), AFTER LORENZO LOTTO (1480-1557) - A large and finely made engraving composed by Dutch Golden Age Engraver Cornelis Visscher (1629-1658) depicting the 'Portrait of Andrea di Odoni' by Italian Renaissance artist Lorenzo Lotto (1480-1557). Andrea di Odoni was a collector of antiquities during the Renaissance and is pictured here amongst much of his collection, many of which are well known to this day. Hidden beneath the matting is an old ink inscription to the lower part of the engraved page which reads 'Bandinelli Baccio'. Any association with this engraving and said Italian Renaissance artist is unclear. An identical copy of this engraving can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
