AN INDO-PERSIAN PESH-KABZ DAGGER WITH ZOOMORPHIC HANDLE, 19 C. - A finely made Indo-Persian pesh-kabz dagger with an exquisitely carved zoomorphic handle and gilt mounts set with small stones. The stylized handle may represent an Indian dragon or possibly a tiger and is decorated down its back with fine foliate carving. The scabbard is a wooden core wrapped with red fabric and is finished with a florally engraved and gilt chape, as well as wire stitching. Indo-Persia, 19th century.
