A 19TH C. INDO-PERSIAN DHAL SHIELD WITH IRON DOMES - An Indian dhal shield made with lacquered hide leather and wrought iron domes. This small military shield, most probably of the mid of the 19th century, was probably made for ceremonial use. The metal dome bosses match the design used in the lower-level ranks of the military.
