A 19TH CENTURY MUGHAL STYLE DHAL SHIELD, LEATHER AND BRONZE BOSS
An antique Indian Dhal Shield made with lacquered hide leather and wrought bronze appliances, six boss suspensions. This medium-sized military shield, most probably an early of the early 19th century (or prior), was made following the Mughal Empire period designs. Worthy of notice is the preservation of the red velvet cushion and leather straps.
A very extended piece of armory presented from Hindustan to the Near East.
