AN OTTOMAN TURKISH SAIF SWORD WITH SHEATH, C. 1820 - Ottoman Turkish saif sword with silver-dotted wood grip. Beautiful wide blade with a gilt guard nicely chased with Arabic inscriptions. Blade of European origin. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with two fittings and strong metal stitching. First quarter of the 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Condition: Good overall with minor damage to the scabbard leather. Blade slightly scratched but retains its original form. Chape of scabbard is an old restoration.
