A GILT ITALIAN ARMORIAL SWORD, NOVATI TORINO, 20TH CENTURY - With a bright, highly detailed, gilt bronze hilt, sculpted to appear as two intertwined dragons, their swirling tails acting as quillons and their wings enveloping the armorial symbol of a bear in front of a cypress tree. The guard is stamped 'NOVATI / TORINO'. The blade is long and straight and bears a wide fuller which splits into two thin fullers near the tip. Italy, first half of the 20th century.
