A 17TH CENTURY SPANISH BILBO SWORD WITH MAKER'S MARKS - A Spanish sword in the characteristic bilbo style, with twin shell guards incised along their rims concealing the guard comprised of two straight quillons surmounted by finger rings as well as a D shaped handguard connected to the rounded steel pommel. The grip of carved wood with partial wire wrapping at top. The sword is marked in 3 places. To one side of the blade is the symbol of the manufacturer, to the other is a partially obscured word being either the manufacturer's name or location, and the guard has a small bone shaped symbol between the quillons to one side.
