A FRENCH RENAISSANCE REVIVAL SILVERED BRONZE PLANTER, 19TH CENTURY - A finely crafted planter in the renaissance revival style comprised of a body of silvered bronze with pierced foliate motifs to each side, all with a central medallion showing either a lion heads or the busts of ancient heroes. The rim also pierced, here with a series of rings, set above a border of quatrefoil patterned guilloche. The whole piece set atop four feet sculpted to appear as winged putti. The interior holds a separate metal box which is used to hold the water or soil of the plant. France, 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
