A BRONZE FIGURE ATTRIBUTED TO WERKSTÄTTE HAAGENAUER, AUSTRIA, CA. 1930 - The sculpture exhibits several traits of Hagenauer Werkstätte, particularly the elongated, elegant forms with simplified anatomy. Streamlined Art Deco to Mid-Century Modern design, blending abstraction with emotional expression. Bronze or brass construction with a dark patina, often paired with polished wood bases a signature Hagenauer pairing. The subject matter (a mother and child) is consistent with their recurring themes of human intimacy and stylized beauty. Since the figure is not stamped ”HAGENAUER WIEN” or ”wHw” (Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien), it may be an attribution or workshop follower piece. Provenance: The Collection of William Cervera (5/31/51 - 3/15/22). Dimensions: H: 13 in., (33 cm.) Condition: Excellent. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
