A PIERRE LE FAGUAYS FRENCH ART DECO NUDE FEMALE FIGURE SCULPTURAL LAMP BASE - Pierre Le Faguays (French, 1892 - 1925), an Art Deco sculptural lamp base cast in bronze, representing an elegant nude female figure with hands raised and crossed above her head. Mounted on a tapering black stone plinth. Circa 1920s. Note: A student of James Vibert at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Pierre Le Faguays began exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne in 1920. Le Faguays' Art Deco statuettes were published by Susse, Goldscheider, Neveux de J. Lehmann, Etling, Max le Verrier and Olliver. He was one of the exhibitors at the Goldscheider Pavilion in 1922. He was a leading sculptor and his work is frequently praised for its high quality and attention to anatomical accuracy. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
