A BRONZE FIGURE OF A BULLDOG BY DERUJINSKY, RUSSIAN, 1930 - Gleb Derujinsky, a bronze figure of a standing bulldog. Signed by author on the base. Has a ”R.B.W.” foundry mark. Roman Bronze Studios was a bronze foundry in New York City. Established in 1897 by Riccardo Bertell. Gleb Derujinsky (1888-1975) was a Russian and American sculptor. Derujinsky began his artistic studies in the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in Saint Petersburg in 1896. He moved to Paris in 1912, where he continued his studies at the Academie Colarossi and at the Academie Julian. His original sculptures in plaster done from life include Theodore Roosevelt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokofiev, Lillian Gish, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Adlai Stevenson, John F.
