A SIGNED WILLIAM TARR (1925-2006) SCULPTURE, 20TH CENTURY - A signed abstract sculpture by the American artist William Tarr (1925-1966), a prolific New York based sculptor. This untitled piece, or its original if this is a copy, was exhibited at the Whitney Museum in NYC in 1964, appearing in a New York Times article on Sunday, December 13th of that same year. Tarr is most well known for his massive cuboid monument to Martin Luther King Jr. that was erected in 1973 in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and his sculpture ”Spirit of Sarasota” which sits outside the Sarasota County Administration Center in Sarasota, Florida.
