A PAIR OF BRONZE BOOKENDS OF POSEIDON AND APHRODITE BY DERUJINSKY, RUSSIAN, 1922 - Gleb Derujinsky, a pair of bronze bookends depicting Poseidon and Aphrodite.Both mounted on yellow marble bases. Signed, dated 1922. Foundry mark ”R.B.W”. Roman Bronze Studios was a bronze foundry in New York City. Established in 1897 by Riccardo Bertell. Exhibited at the William Magnet Gallery, NYC, 1926. Gleb Derujinsky (1888-1975) was a Russian and American sculptor. Derujinsky began his artistic studies in the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in Saint Petersburg in 1896. He moved to Paris in 1912, where he continued his studies at the Academie Colarossi and at the Academie Julian. His original sculptures in plaster done from life include Theodore Roosevelt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokofiev, Lillian Gish, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Adlai Stevenson, John F.
