AN ETCHING TITLED ”APARTMENT” BY ANATOLIY BELKIN, RUSSIAN - Anatoly Belkin (Russian, born 1953), 'Apartment, ' 1989 lithograph from the original done in 1976-1977. Edition 16/100, signed, dated on plate lower right; signed in Cyrillic in pencil 'A. Belkin', titled and dated lower right, also inscribed in Russian: 'To Roma from Galya, ' and numbered lower left. Anatoly Pavlovich Belkin is a Soviet and Russian painter, graphic artist, and installer. Studied at the Leningrad Secondary Art School of B.V Ioganson with L. S. Sholokhov and A. F. Bulygin (1963–1970), then at the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I.E. Repin (1970–1972). Member of the so-called ”Gazanevsky” movement, which marked the beginning of a series of legal exhibitions of nonconformists. In 1977, he held his first solo exhibition in the Palace of Culture. of F. E. Dzerzhinsky in Leningrad. He held a number of solo exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Paris, London, and New York.
