A TERRACOTTA FIGURE BY DERUJINSKY TITLED ”EMBRACE”, RUSSIAN, 1963 - Gleb Derujinsky, a terracotta figure depicting an embracing couple. Signed by the artist, dated 1963. Mounted on a wooden base. Gleb Derujinsky (1888-1975) was a Russian and American sculptor. Derujinsky began his artistic studies in the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in Saint Petersburg in 1896. He moved to Paris in 1912, where he continued his studies at the Academie Colarossi and at the Academie Julian. His original sculptures in plaster done from life include Theodore Roosevelt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokofiev, Lillian Gish, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Adlai Stevenson, John F.
