A GILT-BRONZE LIDDED BOX WITH A CAST-BRONZE MINIATURE, 19TH CEN. - A finely decorated gilt-bronze lidded box with chased and molded foliate patterning to the exterior and a lid comprised of a cast-bronze miniature depicting a scene of peasant life surrounded by a gilt-bronze wreath. The interior is lined with blue fabric. The underside being decorated with a delicate guilloche pattern and affixed with 4 molded feet. Continental Europe, 19th century.
