A FRENCH GILT METAL AND GLASS JEWELRY CASKET, LATE 19TH CENTURY - A charming rectangular jewelry casket with beveled glass panels set into a gilt metal frame. The rectangular form is raised on four ornate scrolling feet, with a molded gilt metal frame adorned at the corners with drop-shaped floral mounts. The hinged lid features a central floral escutcheon with a keyhole (key not present), and all six panels are faceted beveled glass, creating an elegant reflective effect. The base is lined with original floral-patterned fabric, showcasing a delicate motif of roses and greenery against a striped background.
