A LARGE GILT-SILVER AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL KOVSH - A LARGE GILT SILVER AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL KOVSH. Of traditional boat-shaped form with boldly upturned prow in the form of a stylized bird’s head, raised on a circular foot, the exterior decorated in polychrome cloisonné enamels with shaded floral sprays, scrolling foliage, and stylized geometric ornament against alternating green, pink, and cream grounds, the prow adorned with brightly enameled feather motifs. The sides are inset with cabochon hardstones, including amethyst and moonstone, within enamel borders. The interior is richly gilt. Spurious hallmarks. Weight: 44.4 oz., 1260 g.
