A LARGE RUSSIAN GILT-SILVER TANKARD BY SAZIKOV, 1860 - Richly ornamented large Russian silver tankard with domed hinged cover surmounted by a bold cast orb finial encircled by an elaborate wreath of curling vines. The body is decorated in repoussé and chased relief with scrolling foliage, flower heads, and rocaille flourishes, centering a small cartouche likely intended for monogramming or engraving. Hallmarks: 84 Russian silver standard, maker's mark ”Sazikov” in Cyrillic, 1860, Saint Petersburg city mark. Weight: 44.7 o., 1267 g. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
