A VIENNA BRONZE FIGURE OF A FAWN BY BERGMAN, SIGNED - Franz Xaver Bergman (1861-1936) was the owner of a Viennese foundry, known for producing various types of patinated and cold-painted bronzes. This sculpture depicts a mythological fawn clinging to and emerging from a large gourd. The fawn is holding a twig or small branch and has goat like features. This piece is stamped with a maker's mark on the bottom, featuring a B inside an Urn, which refers to Franz Xaver Bergman. Below this mark, it says 'Geschutzt 4485'.
