A JAPANESE PATINATED BRONZE VASE WITH KOI DESIGN - Ovoid bronze vase with a narrow, short neck and rounded shoulder, the surface finely patinated to a deep brown-black with subtle speckling. The body is decorated with two finely rendered koi carp in high-relief engraving, highlighted in reddish copper tones that contrast against the darker ground. The stylized realism of the fish suggests influence from traditional Japanese metalwork of the Meiji period, yet the minimal form and patina suggest a more modern execution. Mark on the verso: rectangular incised seal with Japanese characters, likely identifying the artist or workshop.
