AN ALLEGORICAL BRONZE SCULPTURE BY CHESTER BEACH (AMERICAN, 1881–1956), THE EARTH, SUN AND MOON - An elegant and symbolically rich bronze figural group depicting three intertwined female nudes representing the cosmic triad of Earth, Sun, and Moon. The figures are arranged in a graceful, circular formation—one seated in contemplation, another arching upward in radiance, and the third turned inward in repose—each embodying its celestial aspect. With refined modeling and lyrical movement, the sculpture reflects Beach’s mastery of classical form and early modernist aesthetics. Rendered with a warm, dark patina and finely detailed surface textures, the composition rests on an integral naturalistic base.
