AN 18TH CENTURY ITALIAN HUNTING DAGGER WITH AN ETCHED BLADE - A stunning 18th century Italian hunting dagger etched across the entire surface of its blade with intricate naturalistic motifs including baskets overflowing with flowers, birds flying through trees, and goats butting heads, all among curling foliate scrollwork. The blade has a straight front edge with a curved back which has been sharpened at the last third. The hilt is comprised of a curved staghorn grip set between a chased domed pommel and a guard with s-shaped quillons. Italy, 18th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
